Weekly E-News
Week of February 20, 2011

Hello Everyone!  With the weather warming up, I am sure you are all ready to get back into the full swing of spring.  Rumor has it those words are rarely mentioned in the middle of February.  As you tee it up, you should notice the white stakes with green and red tops along the cart paths.  I wanted to implement this practice that I have found to be successful for the clubs I have worked in the past.  However, I need your help to make it a success.  If you would please enter on the fairway at the white stake with a green top.  You may then keep your carts in the fairways until you see the white stake with a red top.  At this point I would like for you to exit the fairway and make your way back to the cart path.  I know it will take a few rounds getting  adjusted, but in the long run it will become habitual.  This practice has proven to alleviate compaction and allow for a more uniform playing surface throughout both courses.  Thank you for your cooperation and I hope you have a great season!

Volunteers Needed!
Pelican Point Golf Club is searching for volunteers to serve on the newly established Social Committee.  Stoya Lay has agreed to head up the Social Committee which will work closely with the Pelican Point staff in creating fun and entertaining social events throughout the year.   If you are a Links member and have some wonderful ideas for different fun events, please reply to this e-mail as we would like to schedule our first meeting in early March.
Thank you!
